The Kindergarten-3rd grade students had a great time today seeing "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown!" at Central High School. Kindergarten and 1st grade even got to have their lunch on the stage! What a fun experience and the students represented PHE well.

It is time for our annual PHE food drive! Starting today students will collect non-perishable food items to donate to the Arkansas Food Bank. Classes will compete to see who can raise the most items. November 22nd will be the final count and winners will be announced!
We had a special visitor from the Arkansas Food Bank this morning to talk to us about where our food would be going and how a food bank works. Last year we collected enough food to make over 1000 meals!
We have a BIG goal this year....3000 items!!!! We can do it!

Good evening PHE families. We are sending home a parent letter this week regarding the Atlas Portal and a code you can use to view your child's results. If your child is in K-3rd grade, you will be able to view their screener data from the beginning of the 24-25 school year. If your child is in 4th-5th grade, you will be able to see their summative assessment from the 23-24 school year. Please keep in mind, Atlas is a new test for all of us and we are still learning what the scores mean. We are expecting more training on how to accurately read the scores and next steps to help students make progress. Those trainings should take place at the beginning of November. We will share more information as soon as we know more about how to interpret the data. Lastly, this data is a snapshot in time and is only one piece of data we will use to help us teach your child effectively. Thank you for your continued support.

Volleyball Tournament this Saturday 10/19! Come cheer on our UNDEFEATED volleyball team! PHE plays at their first game at 10:30. The winner of that game plays at 1:30 pm . All games played at Mabelvale Middle School. Cost is $5 to attend. Go Panthers!

Good afternoon Pulaski Heights Elementary families:
The Pulaski Heights Middle School Police Officer received a call from LRPD regarding a potential incident at a nearby business. According to the report, an individual entered the business and referenced his possession of a weapon. The employees never saw the weapon and the individual left the premises immediately.
The LRPD responded with neighborhood patrols, LRSD Security dispatched additional officers, and out of an abundance of caution, I elected to restrict students' outside access. Subsequently, we received additional notice that LRPD patrols did not find the individual in the proximity of the campus, and the potential threat to the school was low.
We have a security officer at PHE for the rest of the day. All students are safe inside the school building. We will remain inside until dismissal for the safety of our students and staff.
