Dear Mustang Families - data trends show that Attendance Rates decline steadily over the course of the school year, for a variety of often preventable reasons. The good news is this trend is reversible with teamwork, and reviewing the attached info and suggestions can help us finish the 2025-26 school year strong to meet our Attendance Goal. Good evening, Mustang Country, Due to safety concerns, beginning tomorrow, students will no longer be allowed to bring metal cups such as Stanley or Yeti to school. Students may have clear plastic water bottles with screw on lids. Any metal cups will be taken and kept in the office for parents to pick up. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Hello, Mustang Parents! The LITTLE ROCK LIGHTNING professional basketball team has invited McDermott students to attend select games this weekend for FREE. Games are on SATURDAY at 5:00pm and SUNDAY at 3:00PM in the Hall High School Gym at 6700 H. St. FREE VOUCHERS for students will be available in classrooms by the end of the day. Enjoy!

Hello, Mustang parents, Warm weather is here! Please make sure skirts and shorts are finger tip length! Also, shoes should have backs so children can play safely. February was a really special month at McDermott Elementary. Last week, ten 5th graders enjoyed lunch with Dr. Wright, LRSD Superintendent, celebrating their engagement with Reading in the Rock.
