Good evening, Mustang Parents, Next week, 3rd-5th Graders will take their interim state ATLAS test. We will be testing skills we have learned so far. We need all students at school on time every day and ready to do their best!

Please take note of the following upcoming health events at McDermott Elementary:
• 👁️ Hearing and Vision Screenings – Tuesday, October 21, 2025: Screenings will be conducted for students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades, as well as any new student to Little Rock School District, to support early detection and intervention.
• 💉 Flu Clinic – Tuesday, November 4, 2025: Help protect your child this flu season! Consent forms will be sent home prior to the clinic.

Our final "Act of Peace" this week was our annual aerial photo. Act Now For Peace is the UN's theme and we echoed that with our picture. We are thankful to have a community that can pull together and accomplish anything we set our minds to! Ms. Forbes has "Peace"ed together a beautiful week of being "Tied Together" (tie-dye), Kindness Sticks (complimentary sticky notes), and Hugs & High 5's! Today was the exciting finale with our aerial photo! While you wait in expectation, check out our album of memories!

Just a reminder that there is no basketball practice this afternoon. Team members should follow their regular dismissal plan.

Congratulations to the 2025-26 Mustang Basketball Team! Coach would like to let team members know that there will be practice on Monday and Tuesday afternoons from dismissal until 5:15 PM at the school.

Cheer clinic TODAY after school from 3-5pm. Must have signed consent form (see attached). Tryouts Tomorrow from 3-5pm. If unable to sign consent, please send an email to Brittany.miller@lrsd.org acknowledging you have read over the consent form. 3rd through 5th Graders Cheer tryouts: Thursday and Friday, September 4th-5th from 3-5pm. Must be present BOTH days to tryout out and have SIGNED consent form. Please note: Friday must wear white t-shirt, black shorts and tennis or cheer shoes. Tryouts are CLOSED to the public.

Coach wants to remind parents that tryouts are today and tomorrow after school until 5:30 PM. Tryouts will be closed to parents today and tomorrow.

Good afternoon, Parents, Coach WILL have basketball tryouts today after school until 5:45. He will also announce another day of tryouts after Labor Day.

Due to inclement weather, basketball tryouts will be postponed. More information will be forthcoming.
